Our Commitment
Vivatar Heathrow Hotel is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all our guests. We aim to make our hotel, services and website accessible and to ensure that guests with disabilities can enjoy their stay with dignity, comfort and as much independence as possible.
We recognise that accessibility needs vary from person to person. If you have specific requirements, we encourage you to contact us before your stay so that we can discuss your needs and help determine whether our facilities and accommodation are suitable for you.
This statement provides general information to help you decide whether Vivatar Heathrow Hotel is likely to be suitable for your needs. It is not a guarantee that any particular facility or adjustment will be available or suitable in every case, and it does not affect your statutory rights under applicable law.

Important Information About the Building
Vivatar Heathrow Hotel is a small independent hotel and does not have a lift.
The hotel has two upper floors which are accessed by stairs. Our dedicated accessible accommodation is located on the ground floor. Where the absence of a lift or another permanent physical feature of the building creates a barrier, we will consider reasonable alternative ways of providing our services — such as allocating ground-floor accommodation — rather than altering the building itself. The Equality Act 2010 does not require us to remove or alter a permanent physical feature where this would not be reasonable, including where it would be structurally impracticable, disproportionately costly, or require planning or listed building consent.
If you have difficulty using stairs or require step-free accommodation, please contact our team before booking so that we can discuss your requirements and ensure that the accommodation available is suitable for you.
If you have particular requirements relating to mobility, wheelchair dimensions, bathroom facilities, access or other needs, please speak to our team before your stay.
Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation
As the hotel does not have a lift, we will discuss individual emergency evacuation arrangements with any guest whose mobility, sensory or cognitive needs may affect their ability to evacuate the building safely in an emergency. Where appropriate, we will agree a personal emergency evacuation plan (PEEP) with the guest before or promptly upon arrival, in line with our obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Guests are encouraged to raise any relevant needs with our team as early as possible so that suitable arrangements can be put in place.
Reasonable Adjustments
We will consider reasonable adjustments to our services, practices and procedures where required to help avoid substantial disadvantage for disabled guests.
The Equality Act 2010 provides protections against disability discrimination and includes duties relating to reasonable adjustments in the provision of services. We aim to apply these principles throughout our guest experience. Our duty to make reasonable adjustments is anticipatory: wherever reasonably possible, we aim to identify and address likely barriers in advance — as reflected in the accessible facilities described in this statement — rather than only responding once a specific guest raises an issue.
Not every adjustment will be reasonable in every case. In deciding what is reasonable, we will have regard to factors including the nature of our services, the practicability and cost of a given adjustment, the extent of any disruption to other guests, and our size and resources as a small independent hotel, consistent with the Equality Act 2010 and the related statutory guidance.
Where you have a specific accessibility requirement, please tell us in advance. This allows our team to understand your needs and consider what reasonable assistance or adjustment may be appropriate.
Any health or accessibility-related information you share with us in connection with this statement is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including as special category personal data where relevant, and is used solely to assess and arrange suitable accommodation for your stay.
Assistance During Your Stay
Our 24-hour reception team is available to assist guests and answer questions about accessibility.
Where assistance is requested, we will do our best to help within the capabilities of our team and the facilities available.
Please be aware that we do not have a dedicated concierge or specialist accessibility team. Assistance is provided by general hotel staff on a reasonable-endeavours basis, subject to staff availability, training and the practical constraints of the building, and cannot be guaranteed to the same standard as a specialist accessibility service.
If you require assistance with luggage or other practical matters, please speak to reception and we will assist where reasonably possible and where staff availability permits.
Website Accessibility
We are committed to making the Vivatar Heathrow Hotel website as accessible and easy to use as reasonably possible.
We are actively reviewing and improving our website accessibility and aim to work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard. The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, which impose a legal duty to meet WCAG 2.2 AA, apply to public sector bodies and do not currently apply to private businesses such as ours. We nonetheless are working towards aligning with WCAG 2.2 AA voluntarily, as a matter of good practice and inclusion, alongside our separate duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments to the way we provide our services, including online.
Our accessibility work includes, where applicable:
• Clear and readable content
• Meaningful headings and page structure
• Descriptive alternative text for relevant images
• Clear link and button labels
• Accessible navigation
• Appropriate colour contrast
• Readable typography
• Content that can be accessed across different devices
• Improving compatibility with assistive technologies
Current Website Accessibility
We are working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance and are continuing to identify and address accessibility issues.
The website has not yet undergone a formal independent accessibility audit. We therefore do not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
As improvements are made, we will continue to review the website and update this statement where appropriate.
We believe accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time exercise and will aim to consider accessibility whenever we add or substantially change website content or functionality.
Alternative Formats and Assistance
If you have difficulty accessing any information on our website, please contact us.
We will consider reasonable requests for information or assistance in an alternative format where possible.
If you require information about our rooms, facilities or services before booking, our team can also discuss your requirements directly.

Feedback
We welcome feedback about accessibility.
If you encounter an accessibility issue on our website or during your stay, please let us know. Your feedback helps us identify areas where we can improve.
When reporting a website accessibility issue, it is helpful if you can tell us:
• The page or feature you were trying to use
• What difficulty you experienced
• What device or browser you were using, if known
• What you would have expected to happen
We will consider accessibility feedback and respond as soon as reasonably practicable.
